DIY Summer Shandy

I recently enjoyed a Leinenkugel’s Summer Shandy after a baseball practice. I thought: “You know, this is not bad for a bottled drink, but I bet we can do a lot better if we make it with fresh lemonade.” So, off I went to my grocery store to buy lemonade, limes, lemons, and an orange (and of course a six pack of my favorite beer too).

I bought a frozen lemonade, but if you want to make your drink spectacular, follow this recipe on making lemonade from scratch that I posted a few weeks ago:

I know you are all saying this was pink lemonade, but it was too good not to share again. If you want to, you can take out the cranberry juice and use a little more lemon and sugar to replace it. That way you will have more of a lemon-y lemonade.

Making the shandy is really simple. Take a frosted mug, and pour beer and lemonade together. Garnish it with citrus and serve. In fact, I’m going to quit writing this and have one myself!
