Ever wonder where some of those beautiful travel pins you see on Pinterest really are in the world? We did, that is one of the many reasons we created the interactive travel map. A lot of our favorite pins are on our live dan330 – Travel board on Pinterest. To get to the interactive map just click through the image by selecting website on the second page. It may take a moment to load because there is so much data, but it will be worth your time.
When your selection does come up you should get a page like this: (we have selected Shanghai, China for this demo)
This map shows only one pin for the destination you have selected. You can move this map around and zoom in and out as well to get a feel for where Shanghai really is. As you scroll down this page you will get to a high resolution picture of Shanghai. Just below this image (for any destination) are directions to links for blog articles and / or travel sites about your selection.
Another reason we created this map was to be a travel resource. To explore the whole world, scroll to the top of the page and select Explore the Map. Zoom in or out of the part of the world you want to explore and select a pin that you are interested in. When you have successfully selected a pin it should turn blue and bounce up and down.
