Ideas for Thanksgiving Sides

Roasted Carrots with Thyme and Butternut

If you haven’t finalized your Thanksgiving menu yet, there is still time…..not much time. You can still pull this off. Here are some ideas that we came across while cruising the interweb thing.

This first offering is an easy light side that is hard to screw up, even when you are distracted by the Holiday chaos. Brocoli Salad:

This one tastes as good as it looks. Here is a link to the original recipe.

If you want something a little hardier and colorful try this Roasted Carrot with Thyme and Butternut dish. Roasting the carrots bring out the rich flavor and you can get by with just a little olive oil and pepper or add spices to fit your taste.

Last week we posted an article about Thanksgiving dishes that we aren’t so thankful for. We had canned cranberry sauce on our list and made fun of the way it looked coming out of the can. Here’s a great alternative to the can. We think you should try Fresh Cranberry Sauce (with a twist) and Orange.

For a really fresh side you should also consider the French Country Salad. This has lots of vegetable and is one of our favorites.
