Why the Leviathan should be called “The Boldest Sandwich of All”

Why the Leviathan should be called the Boldest Sandwich of all.

When we were first contacted by Boar’s Head about this contest we were challenged to create the Boldest sandwich of them all using their products.  There are a lot of great sandwiches out there, but we think The Leviathan is the boldest. It’s hot, it’s crisp, it’s fresh and it’s delicious.

It all starts with the bun … if you could call it that. The bun is actually made out of two grilled cheese sandwiches. But we didn’t use plain old off the shelf bread, we took fresh sourdough and filled it with Boars Head Brand Smoked Gouda Cheese. And as if that wasn’t enough, we went and made our own butter infused with jalapeño. Now that’s a good foundation to a sandwich … and reaching nearly 9 inches tall, this baby needs a solid one. We wanted to make a Bold statement with this sandwich.

Who could call a cold sandwich the boldest? That’s why we took some of our homemade jalapeño butter and fried up some Boars Head Bold Blackened Turkey to make it nice and hot.

Then we added some fresh ingredients too: avocado, lettuce, and bell peppers. But we weren’t  done yet. When we first made this sandwich, we forgot to add the bacon. Good thing we caught that mistake!

In Summary:

  • Grilled Cheese Buns!
  • 6 Tbsp of homemade jalapeño butter
  • 1/4 pound of gouda
  • 1/3 pound of fried blackened turkey
  • 1/3 pound of bacon

… do I need to say more?
