Over the last few months, my wife has gotten into essential oils. I have to admit, I have too. I recently joined a site called tomoson.com that matches up bloggers to products. I saw Pure Body Naturals’ Multi Purpose Fractionated Coconut Oil on their site and jumped at the chance to review it. They sent me a free sample in exchange for a review.

I guess I didn’t understand that with essential oils, you need to use some sort of “carrier” oil so that the essential oil is not too strong. You should check with your supplier and manufacturer for details with your own oils, but Fractionated Coconut Oil can be used for aromatherapy, as a carrier or essential oils, or for massage. It is a wonderful carrier oil as it is smooth on your skin, easily absorbed and does not change the properties of your essential oils.

It is used because it is an all-natural carrier that readily absorbs into the skin. Here’s what the manufacturer says about the product “(an) ideal oil for topical therapies. Its feather-light emollient effect provides a soothing barrier without clogging pores and is excellent for dry or troubled skin. It leaves skin feeling silky smooth, not greasy like other vegetable carrier oils. It is completely soluble with all essential oils and is colorless, odorless, and will not stain or go rancid.”

This is all important to me. I thought the oil left a great smooth feeling skin. I couldn’t smell any odor or see any color either. Pure Body Naturals said it will never go rancid (I couldn’t test that in the amount of time I had), does not clog pores and may soothe skin inflammation due to its disinfectant and antioxidant properties, but they also say these statements have not been evaluated by the FDA. They also said these claims and product is not intended to treat, cure, prevent or diagnose any diseases or conditions.

Bottom line, I used the product to dilute a few different bottles of essential oils. Personally, I loved it. I have tried a few brands before and I would go back to this one again.
