Gearing up for Spring Gardening
Finally the snow pack is melting off fast and it’s time to think about spring planting! The best way to get your spring projects underway is making your plans in winter. Last wear we started building a flagstone patio fire pit and raised bed as soon as the thaw occurred. This year we are adding a chicken coop, raised vegetable beds, and re-landscaping around the fire pit to create a garden oasis. To do this on a budget and DIY requires a lot of planning done mostly in the fall and winter. We have spent days drawing amateur blueprints for the coop and mapping what plants will go where, as well as pricing everything we can think of.
