Warm Apple Bake
Warm apple bake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream is the perfect way to finish a meal.
I’ve got a few apples left from our apple picking days and want to use them up before they sit too long. There are so many wonderful recipes that can be made using apples, but I need something simple. Something the kids can do themselves. They love being able to say, “Look what I made.”
Similar to my homemade honeycrisp apple crisp, this easy recipe allows you to throw it all in a bowl, mix it up and bake it. Instead of a crunchy oatmeal coating on top, cinnamon and brown sugar is added to flour and mixed throughout the dish. It’s the perfect recipe kids can make on their own.
Warm baked apples nestled in a cinnamon and brown sugar crumble. It doesn’t get any better than this. I used honeycrisp apples for this recipe but any kinds would be delicious baked. Toss the slices in a bit of lemon juice to keep them from browning and it adds just the right amount of zing to the dish.
