Surprise Your Family With Some DIY
When we have a family, it can be difficult to juggle everyone’s needs and it can also take a lot of thought and time into realising everyone’s needs and enabling them to grasp what they want, so that they are happy and content. There will be times when you will feel the need to please your other half, and even though you obviously know them very well, their needs could change as life progresses. For example, if your wife spends a lot of time looking after the children then she may feel that she deserves a treat such as being taken out for dinner, going on a short weekend break or spending an evening socializing with friends. Or, she may just want a night of peace at home, and to enable her to have this luxury, it could be up to you to take the children out for the evening to catch a movie, watch a game of sport or to take them to a restaurant where you can all enjoy great food and enjoy each other’s company.
If it is your children who you feel may need something to cater to their needs, you could take the time to sit down with them, and ask them what it is that they exactly want. If they feel that they would like to do more activities with you or your other half in the evenings, you could look up what is going on in the area and decide whether there is anything going on that they would enjoy. Or, you could spontaneously take them out somewhere one evening without telling them, and you should keep it as a surprise. If they feel that they would like to do more activities on the weekend, then you could allow them to join a sports team or take up another hobby which they could enjoy. Or, you and your other half could take them away for the weekend to somewhere which they have never been. This could be a great idea as they will experience new places, new activities and could also have the opportunity to meet other children their age from a range of different backgrounds. Also, a weekend away could be the perfect choice for you and your other half, too, as you will not be stuck at home and can get away from the stresses of worrying about aspects such as household chores or even worrying about (this is if you are frugal) the amount of energy that is being used in the house with all your family spending the whole weekend at home.
However, it is sometimes a good idea to do things to please your family which are out of the norm. Yes, things like a weekend away and evenings out are always nice to do but they can tend to become tiresome and cliche as everyone does things like that. If things out of the ordinary are done, then this means that your family could appreciate these types of things more – and they have not even got to cost a lot of money or they may not even mean you will have to leave the house.
Take a look around your home and work out what aspects of it, or details of it, could do with a bit of a revamp or refurb, or if certain parts of it could do with new additions. There is bound to be parts of your home which will need adjustment or additions, but if you do not cast a keen eye then you may miss them. If you want to surprise your wife, then you could take a look at the bedroom and do some DIY while she is out, such as fixing a new shelf to the wall and placing fresh flowers on it, or even putting photos of the family around the bedroom. You could also take a look on Plumeria Bay and invest in some brand new additions to the bed, so that she can relax and get a good night’s sleep after looking after the children all day. If you really want to treat her, you could even build her own separate wardrobe, instead of you both sharing one. She may really appreciate that!
When it comes to the children, go and take a look at their room, or rooms, and decide whether they could benefit from some new additions. If your child’s room is cluttered with toys, clothes, books or other aspects of their belongings, then this could mean that they do not have enough storage space or that they have outgrown the space that they are using. To surprise them, you could create a new storage space for them or expand the existing storage that they already have. You could build a box for their belongings, such as toys; or you could even expand on the storage space they have by building a bookcase, fixing shelves to the walls or creating a little cubby hole for them within their wardrobe. With new additions to their room, they will feel like they want to spend a lot of time in there and will definitely appreciate the hard work you have put in.
To allow the whole family to be subjected to a surprise or a treat, you could invest some time into thinking what will make the garden more appealing. It could be that a shed is needed, or that a new patio table is needed. Whatever it is, you could use your DIY skills and create something which all the family will love, and which they will all use. If your family spend a lot of time in the garden, eating dinner or chilling out together, you could put some thought into creating your own chairs and to make them really quirky, you could put initials on them to signify what chair belongs to which member of the family. Your children will really love this, and you can almost bet that no one else you know would have chairs like these in their back garden.
