You should make a great smoked recipe at the same time as these beans. We have a few you should consider making, like our Smoke Pulled Pork, Then you can make pulled pork eggs benedict and our pulled pork sliders with the leftovers.
Smoked Baked Beans Recipe
These beans were fantastic even the first try at making them. But we have a few tips to share. Make sure to read the whole blog post. I’ll share them as appropriate.
- 1 onion
- 1/4 pound of bacon
- 2 cans baked beans
- 1 jalapeno
I placed affiliate links to products at Amazon I like below. It’s nice to know you are getting good equipment.
Chop the onion and bacon into bits and lay them on the bottom of your pan. Now, if you are cooking this for less than 6 hours, adjust the recipe sby frying the bacon about 3/4 of the way done on the bottom of the pan now. Then add the onion. If you are cooking it longer than six hours, it will get plenty of cooking time on the grill or smoker, just throw it all in now.
Pour the beans over the bacon. That good bacon grease is going to get all soaked up in your beans.
Top the beans with bacon bits. Again, if this is for less than 6 hours, fry it up first. Then add some coined jalapeno and the spices.
Place on indirect heat on grill or in your smoker.
The dish’s many flavors will meld together while it cooks and the top will become crusty and infused with smoke.
Serve and enjoy with friends.
