Estella is my one-year-old. She suffers from Crabby-Non-Sleeping-Baby-Pain-In-The-Gas-Syndrome.  For other great tips, recipes and ideas, visit us at dan330.sqsp.com.

In an effort to conquer this little-known pandemic, we tried watching her diet, making sure she had a good bedtime and eating routine, etc. etc. Nothing we tried really seemed to work with consistency so we started looking for other ideas. We remembered a friend had recommend gripe water for our oldest daughter. We tried it and we noticed a very specific improvement in Estella. Being cheap, a blogger, and wanting more sleep, I decided to try to make this myself.  We had a new plan to conquer Crabby-Non-Sleeping-Baby-Pain-In-The-Gas-Syndrome.

Two ingredients listed on the bottle were fennel and ginger. I did some research and it seemed that these two ingredients may in fact help. I also ran across mint as something that tames gas pains and upset stomachs. It sounded like a good mix. It should taste good and there are plenty of others who claim these ingredients relieve gas, indigestion, nausea, teething pain, and most importantly to me, Crabby-Non-Sleeping-Baby-Pain-In-The-Gas-Syndrome. Please, before you give this to your baby, make sure you talk to your pediatrician first.

Sick of dealing with Crabby-Non-Sleeping-Baby-Pain-In-The-Gas-Syndrome? To make Estella’s Best Gripe Water you need:

  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 tbsp Fennel
  • 1″ cube of Ginger peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Mint

Bring the water to a boil and remove from heat. Add fennel, ginger, and mint. Let the water steep for ten minutes.

This tea will help reduce indigestion, sour stomach, nausea, gas, bloating and also works as a hangover cure. I gave 5 ml to my daughter. Adults can drink a glass.
