A quick and easy meal on a chilly fall night, Great grandma’s Coney Burgers were the best. I don’t know why they weren’t called sloppy joe’s, but to our family it was Coneys. It would be a good night when we smelled them being made at the last minute. Yup, they’re a good, “what are we going to have tonight?” recipe. No fancy ingredients and in 10 minutes, you can be enjoying a hot dinner.
Brown the ground beef with chopped onion and celery, until cooked through and drain off any grease.
Now add:
1 bottle chili sauce
1/2 c. water
1 T. Worchestershire Sauce
2 T. brown sugar
1 T. vinegar
1 T. wet mustard
That’s it! You can heat it for 10 minutes while you get the rest of the meal ready and the table set.
Thanks for the recipe Great Grandma!
