Easy homemade applesauce will leave your house smelling like an orchard and your taste-buds saying “thanks”. What could be better on a crisp fall day? It’s so easy to make that you’ll wonder why you haven’t always made your own at home. Here’s the recipe: Peel, quarter, core, slice and heat in a saucepan with a little water or apple juice.
Flavor your applesauce to taste with white or brown sugar or add some candy red hots to liven it up. If you like a tart flavor start with cooking apples and don’t add much sugar. It’s up to you! I like to use cinnamon as a finish and put it on the table warm.
What a wonderful fresh fall treat. Thanks for the recipe Grandma. How do you like your applesauce?
Warmly,
Laurie
