Nailed It! – Holiday Cooking Fails

A big part of the holiday season is food. We were surprised at the strong reaction we go to our post on Thankgiving Dishes we aren’t so Thankful for.  We definitely hit a nerve. People are quite passionate about their Thanksgiving side dishes. Our apologies to the Mincemeat Pie lovers…we still don’t like it.

So many of us are creative chef wannabe’s. Lot’s of times we see a fun looking pin on Pinterest and have great intentions of what we can create in the kitchen. For some of us, once we get started in the kitchen, reality sets in quick. Here is another offering of cooking fails.

First up: Cookie Monster Cupcakes. What parent wouldn’t want their little darlings to have a Sesame Street treat on a special day? Maybe this mom or dad should just find a good bakery.

If cupcakes aren’t your thing, maybe just bake some cookies for the kids. Who could screw up a basic cookie recipe? Someone who tries to get fancy that’s who. Check out the Waffle Iron Cookies:

OK so maybe some of us are all thumbs in the kitchen. Kids love cheese. How badly could you mess up with cheese balls?

Why is it that you need a license to drive, fish, hunt, operate a business, etc, etc.? Some people shouldn’t be allowed in the kitchen without some kind of basic training. We don’t have a clue what this was supposed to be:

Let’s just move on to dessert. We found someone who had a great idea to make a Turkey Cake for Thanksgiving. What do you think?

Maybe a pie would be better for Thanksgiving anyway. How about the traditional Thanksgiving octopus pie?

In our area most kids are off of school for most of the  week of Thanksgiving. We know this because we saw it on a sign:

Have fun in the kitchen out there, but don’t make us feature your work next week.
