Wasps. They are aggressive, scare your kids, ruin your dinner parties, and can literally be a pain. But, they are a legitimate concern to us too. They compete with bees and will kill and eat them. Bees are essential to pollinating our crops. So it is good f0r us to know how we can help them out. I was talking to a bee keeper this spring and he said “kill on site” they are very harmful to bees and to our crops.”
Here’s his trick: Wasps hate peppermint oil. Not only does peppermint smell great to us, it annoys the heck out of wasps and can even kill the larva.
He also give us another tip: A cool and easily made wasp trap that uses simple sugar to attract them.
