Are you planning on heading off on a trip soon? Have you finally found the time to take a break from work and get away? For many people, being able to take a trip and get away from our hectic and stressful lifestyles is a dream come true, even if it is just for a week or two.

Have you spent months saving up funds, checking travel sites and working out the best airline to fly with? But, now that you have the money and time to get away, you just can’t decide where to go…

Don’t panic, surprisingly this is a problem faced by many travellers. Deciding where you should go on vacation is a big decision, especially if you have been planning the perfect getaway for months. You just want the perfect holiday, a fun, relaxing and memorable trip, but you just can’t decide where to go.

To help you decide where you should visit for your next trip, we have created a guide below to help you. To find out more, have a read of this.

Set a budget

First things first, set a budget. While you may have been saving up for your holiday for a while, it is still important to set yourself a budget. Otherwise, you may end up overspending and have very little money left for spending on the trip itself.

Work out how much you have to spend and then split it into two budgets – one for accommodation, flights and transfers, and one for spending money. Once you know how much you have to work with, you can then get planning your trip.

If you are working with a small budget, opt for destinations in developing countries and backpacker friendly destinations, as these will be a lot cheaper. Places in Southeast Asia are ideal for visiting on a budget, as are many European locations like Spain and Greece. You may be surprised, but China can also be visited on a smaller budget with deals from China Direct Travel and other travel agencies.

If money is not a problem, there are many unique and intriguing destinations you can visit, from Australia to Dubai; the options are limitless.

Travel time

Before choosing a destination, consider the time that you have. How much time do you have for your trip? How much of that time do you want to spend travelling to and from your destination? Are you just going to one destination or do you plan on moving around?

There are certain places that are easy to get to and perfect for shorter trips, while there are other countries that have much longer travel times. Before booking a trip, consider how much of your time you will be spending travelling.

Type of trip

You may have already decided what type of trip you would like to have – a lazy beach holiday, a skiing trip or an adventure in a developing country? Knowing the type of vacation you want, will help you narrow down your destination options.

Weather

What sort of weather are you hoping for? If you are hoping for a hot holiday in a warm climate, taking a trip to Australia might be the perfect trip. But, make sure that you find out as much about the climate conditions as possible, before booking your trip.
