How To Throw A Party That Everyone Will Remember
Every now and then you need to get together with friends and let loose. A party is a great way to do that. But, it’s no easy feat throwing the perfect party. It takes planning, budgeting and the right guestlist. We’ve thrown our fair share of parties and we’ve got it down to a fine art. Today we’ll share some secrets with you so you can throw your own amazing party. The trick is limit your amount of work on the evening. After all, you should have fun too!
Set the date in advance – When it comes to organising a single date among adults, it can get tough. Diaries get booked up and commitments are made. We often find ourselves without a free weekend for months. If you’re serious about having a party with all your friends, pencil them in well in advance! One good way is to ask guests to save the date until you are more certain of the arrangements.
Theme – Now’s the time to decide exactly what sort of party you want. It could be a sophisticated dinner party with a select few friends. It could be more casual with a few board games and a bottle or two of wine. If it’s a grander occasion like a birthday or anniversary, you may have bigger ambitions. What about a masquerade ball or a black tie evening? Decide in advance as it will inform every other decision.
Budget – It’s easy to get carried away when you’re throwing a party. There are so many fun things you can pick up whether it’s decorations or food. It makes good sense to set yourself a budget and stick to it. Depending on what theme you’ve decided on, you should cover the basic drinks and party foods. Try to think of every last cost. From disposable cups to napkins, it’s all important!
Invite the right people – The only important thing about your party is the guests. If you have the right people there, you’ll have a great time, no matter what. If you’re planning a dinner party, think about which guests will get on well together. It’s a great way to introduce new people together, but if personalities clash, it could be awkward! If you’re thinking of something bigger, then your list can get a little longer. But, you’ll always have to draw the line somewhere.
Entertainment – Sometimes, good conversation among friends is all you need. However, if you want people to really remember the evening, some entertainment will go down a treat. Again, this will depend on your party. Perhaps you could book a live band for a large get together. For a super fun dinner party you could try a murder mystery theme!
Throwing a great party is a tricky business. Try to plan an evening that you would love and the rest should come naturally. Book and plan ahead to avoid any troubles. After that, let the party carry itself and let the guests have fun. It will be a party to remember!
