How To Prune Tomato Plants

Pruning, or trimming, a tomato plant has two big advantages. You can train it to grow on a trellis to grow the tomato plant vertically. Plus, you can get the plant to produce better fruit. Check out our article on how and why to prune a tomato plant.

Tips for Pruning Tomato Plants


There are a lot of good reasons to prune your tomato plants. Leaves that are too shaded will not produce as much sugar for the tomato. A well pruned and staked tomato plant will bear larger fruit two to three weeks earlier than a non pruned plant. For the original post and pruning tips click HERE.
