This is Chris from LiveDan330.com Today, we are sampling pool care products from HTH Pool. I’m going to tell you how I take care of my pool, but make sure to check out the HTH Blog or visit the HTH Pool Facebook Page.
Let me tell you a little story about this property. My great grandparents moved to America as immigrants. They ended up settling in the Twin Cities of Minnesota. This property was on Lake Johanna, just north of Minneapolis. The area was a summer home destination for many businessmen in the city. This just happened to be where my great grandparents settled. They had a farm a few miles away in Roseville. My Grandparents put this pool in the ground in the early 1950’s. The pool is made out of cement and you can still see my fathers’ footprint from when he walked in the pool as a toddler and dented the still-curing cement. In the 70’s and 80’s, my grandfather was in the Minnesota Senate. When the Senate was in session, this was the closest house of a member to the capital. As a child, I remember swimming and having food trucks on the property with many of the state legislators because they came from all over the state to work for weeks at a time. This was one of the hangouts when they got together. Today, my kids, my parents, and the rest of my family enjoy the pool.
Needless to say, there is a lot of history with this pool. It is a place my family calls home and it is a venue for many parties and get togethers. In June, we just had a birthday party for two kids. Johnnie, and Estella are the 5th generation of my family in this pool. These parties are a regular thing. In fact, throughout the summer, we have a private Facebook group that comes over every week. They bring appetizers and drinks and we blog about them on this site while everybody swims. Because we have regular parties and this pool has a lot of use, it is important to avoid health and safety issues.
Pools are great. I love having one, but the truth is that when 30 people come over, it is very important to stay on top of the chemistry of your pool. That’s part of the reason I like HTH® Pool Care. Their brand provides easy to use pool and spa care products. Their simple 4 step process lets me enjoy my pool. After all, that is why you have a pool, isn’t it?
The HTH® Pool Care program is as easy as 1-2-3-4. Balance – Sanitize – Shock – and Prevent Algae. But, I’m the 4th generation “pool boy” as we like to jokingly call ourselves. With regular parties, I test for pool for PH, Chlorine, and other chemicals nearly daily to make sure my pool is in a proper balance. You probably already have a pool and will likely already know how often you need to check yours. I sanitize my pool weekly using shock if necessary and make sure there are enough HTH® Extended Skimmer sticks in the skimmer. One of the biggest challenges of having a pool is keeping the algae under control. I use the HTH® Super Algae Guard to control that as necessary. You can learn more about the steps for taking care of a pool with the HTH® Pool Care program at http://www.hthpools.com/PoolCare/4-step-program/balancestep.aspx. The best part of the HTH® line? Not only does it have a simple 1-2-3-4 program, each product is labeled and color-coded to identify which step it is for. Look how easy HTH® Pool Care makes it to use their 1-2-3-4 program:

Besides just taking my word for it, I decided to also demonstrate how simple it was to use the HTH® Super Algae Guard. We were out of town for a week and the pool got a little ahead of us. Needless to say, we started to grow algae. The HTH® Super Algae Guard snapped the pool right back to shape. This pool has been in our family for 50+ years and it has never looked nicer.
Here we are pouring the HTH® Super Algae Guard into the pool. You can easily measure the quantity used right from the bottle. The product quickly dispersed into the water and looked great.
Convenience is also important to me. I don’t usually plan ahead enough to order chemicals. HTH® Pool Care products can be found in many stores including Walmart, Home Depot, Meijer, Ace Hardware, BJ’s Wholesale Club, and Costco.
Thanks for reading and happy swimming!
