At Dan330.com, we have a tailgating party nearly every week during the football season. It’s a way for us to get together with friends and neighbors. We cook 3-7 appetizers for tailgating and then let our guests tell us what they think before we write them on the the blog. This make sure you are getting tried and true recipes. Last weeks tailgating party winner was the Jalapeno Poppers. They had some stiff competition, but they kept disappearing the fastest!!!

Make sure you stay up to speed with us on Facebook. Watch our Videos on Youtube and for some behind the scenes action, follow us at Periscope! We try to do a live broadcast 1-2 times daily.

Jalapeno Popper Recipe

This simple recipe only requires a few ingredients:

  • 10 slices fried bacon chopped
  • 1 packet cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup green olives
  • 2 dozen jalapeno peppers
  • 1/4 cup cheddar cheese shredded

Slice the jalapeno peppers in half, cutting off the stem. I recommend using a filet knife to cut out the seeds and membranes on the inside of the peppers. If you don’t want it too spicy, you can also rinse the peppers off. That will remove some of the spiciness.

Then, fry your bacon and chop it up. (You can start the bacon earlier,  it takes about 10 minutes to cook)

In a large bowl, mix the cream cheese, cheddar cheese, bacon, and chopped olives.
