  • 100g of Stilton or another blue cheese
  • 2 heads of broccoli
  • 1 chicken stock cube
  • 100g of butter
  • 1 potato
  • 1 leek
  • 1 sticks of celery
  • 1 onion
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil


Step 1

Firstly, you’ll need to heat a large saucepan and add your vegetable oil. You should then dice your onions and throw them in there too. Cook the mixture on a medium setting until the onions become soft. You can always add some water into the mix if the onions stick or get too dry. Allow the mixture to simmer on your stove for around ten minutes for the best results.

Step 2

Slice your celery and leek before dicing your potato and adding it to the saucepan. You should stir the ingredients until they begin to melt. At that time, cover the pot with the lid to enable them to sweat. That process should take no longer than around six minutes in most instances. Check some of the celery to see how soft it has become before moving onto the next step.

Step 3

Crumble your chicken stock cube into the saucepan and notice the difference in color and smell. You should then throw any leftover broccoli stalk into the mix. Turn the power up slightly and wait for around fifteen minutes until the vegetables become mushy and soft.
