The soon-to-be-arriving summer months mean many things. They mean sunshine, and shorts, and picnics! They also, of course, means summer parties. But if you choose to host one, is your garden ready? Perhaps you’re going to plan it three months in advance or spontaneously invite people over on the day. Whichever route you take, here is how to make your garden summer party ready.

An Inflatable Hot Tub

If you are lucky enough to have an outdoor pool, you’ll already have a space where dedicated guests can spend sometime in the water. But if not, saving for one and building one in just a couple of months is a hefty task! A cool alternative is an inflatable hot tub. Like paddling pools, but bigger and for adults, you can buy your own for much cheaper that it would be cost to install an outdoor pool. They’re great for once the sun goes in for the night, but you still want to enjoy being outside. Or, if you only want one for the party you’re organising, hire one! Hot tub hire usually involves delivery and collection as part of the price, so you don’t have to worry about that. They’ll also fill it and heat it for you too. All you have to do is let them in and then let them get on! Oh, and remember to remind your guests to bring their swimwear, unless comando bathing is your thing!

A Central Feature

Great parties have a central feature that make everybody say ‘ooh!’ and ‘ahh!’ in unison. At a wedding, for example, you might have an elaborate flower display. So what will you have at your party? Well, how about picking something that is a long-term investment and will last long after your guests have left. Something like a fire pit, for example, makes for an impressive party feature. However, it can also be used and enjoy all year round. In the winter months, for example, it allows you to be outside even when the air is cooler. Make your blend in with the rest of your garden’s design with fire glass in a color to suit.

A BBQ Area

Dedicated BBQ areas are awesome at summer parties. They give you a place to cook, and a place to gather around. Of course, they don’t just consist of the BBQ itself. Set out your table and chairs here too. Just be sure to check which way the wind blows, so you don’t end up with faces full of smoke while you’re eating.

Comfortable Seating

The last thing you want is your party guests shuffling around uncomfortably on their chairs. Good seating at your summer party makes all the difference. Investing in full chairs and sofas can be expensive however, so how about something else? Floor cushions are a great idea, and you can even make them yourself. Alternatively, how about bean bag chairs? You could also just hire them for the day, if the party is a one-off. Oh, and if you still don’t have enough chairs to go around? Crank up some good music and people will be happy to dance anyway!
