This Is Why You’re Not Happy With Your Garden

If you’ve ever stepped into your garden and told yourself “wow, I hate this dump!” then don’t worry—you aren’t alone. Gloomy gardens, plastic furniture and abandoned yards are the bane of any homeowner. Most of the time, these homes end up in these situations because they’re just not cared for. It could be that the garden is too much work, or perhaps the owners just don’t have time to spend on it nor the money to hire a gardener. After all, why would you use your garden at all if you rarely step inside of it?

Sadly, we all feel that creeping sense of guilt sooner or later. You love your house and your garden, but you simply can’t bring yourself to work on it or hire someone to do it for you. You find very little time to actually be in your garden, and you might feel like the dump it’s turned into right now just isn’t worth your time.

You have no use for your garden

If you feel like there’s no point for you to even step in your garden, then it’s natural to neglect it. However, gardens have a variety of different uses such as relaxation and stress relief. If you live a busy life, then having a pristine and welcoming garden to relax in can be a fantastic way to melt away the troubles in your workplace. It’s a fantastic place to unwind and remember that you can also use your garden to throw parties with your friends. Grilling food is a fantastic way to eat during the summer and it’s also an excuse to invite family and friends over.

Your garden is too expensive

For many people, gardens become time-sinking hobbies that also gobble up money. However, there are plenty of ways to cut down the costs of renovating and improving your garden. For instance, if your fences need to be repaired then instead of getting a contractor to fix it, consider talking to a wood fencing distributor and doing it yourself. Gardens can become hobbies, after all, so it makes sense to invest time, money and effort into learning how to maintain it yourself instead of always relying on a service.

Your garden is too small

A lot of people are upset with their garden because they believe it’s too small for their uses. They might plant a couple of trees or flowers and they might keep the lawn, but the doubt will eventually sink in and you’ll be kicking yourself for not buying a house that had a larger garden. This is unfortunate, but there’s no way around this unless you can extend your garden with planning permission. Alternatively, if you’re only interested in growing plants, then consider getting a couple of planters or setting up an indoor planting area instead.

Your garden is too big

And on the opposite end of the spectrum, we have gardens that are too big and too much to take care of. If you feel your garden is too big, then make more use of your lawn. Turn it into a play area for the children or use it as a personal park to lounge in an relax when the sun is out. Don’t try to border the entire garden with expensive high-maintenance plants, and keep your garden nice and simple.
