Selfie Satisfaction On Your Travels!
The selfie has a lot to answer for when it comes to vacationing, doesn’t it? There’s no need to bug people to take a picture of you in front of the leaning tower of Pisa, wait for the disposable camera to build up to a flash and “click,” oh no! Everyone knows how to use a smartphone for pics, and can take a selfie with their eyes closed. As soon as selfie sticks came into prominence, the selfie game got ramped up a couple of notches, giving you the opportunity to make the most of the wonderful views behind you, and not just mainly forehead in the resulting photo. But if you’re a selfie master, with or without the stick, here are some places that you’ve got to go to get some selfie satisfaction!
The Tower Bridge, London, United Kingdom
If you take a road trip around the United Kingdom, there are plenty of wonderful views, from the snow-capped Snowdonia National Park in Wales to the watery Lake District up in the north of England, but if you want to start with some simple touristy snaps, then The Tower Bridge is a good start. You can stand on the bridge and get some selfies with the Thames River behind you, or stand with the beautiful bridge structure in full view. If you’re a postcard sender or like to send your relatives greeting cards on your travels, there is always a postcard with a picture of the iconic Tower Bridge on it, but why don’t you go one step further? The greeting cards app “MyPostcard” gives you the chance to make cards and postcards to send home, and what’s more, you’ll be in the picture! This takes the selfie one step beyond!
Port Campbell National Park, Australia
As a photo opportunity, Australia is awash with plenty! If you travel down the coast from Melbourne to the Great Ocean Road, Port Campbell is waiting! With its glorious beaches and sights, specifically the Loch Ard Gorge, taking a selfie in between those masses of rocks with the water swooshing behind you, you would get some of the best pictures of any vacation! And if you really couldn’t resist taking some pictures of food, the Gorge Chocolates establishment in Princetown has plenty of mouth-watering chocolate delicacies to feast your eyes (and smartphone) on!
The Eiffel Tower, Paris, France
Yes, this is probably the most selfied location in the world, and with good reason! It’s the place men go to propose, and women go to say “yes, I will!” But if you look at the tower, the sheer grandeur and spectacle make it one of the most beautiful landmarks in the world. And when you see it lit up at night, it’s the most beautiful place on the planet. And the big challenge with the almighty selfie at the Eiffel Tower is to see if you can get the whole thing in the picture! I bet you can’t! Unless you have a really long selfie stick!
