Awesome Apple Blossoms
Spoiler alert! This post is all fluff. It is full of eye candy and not much substance. There will be lots of pictures of awesome apple blossoms. Proceed at your own risk!
The calendar says May but for the last few weeks it has been cold, rainy and gloomy in the upper midwest. After a day and a half of almost sunny skies, the temperature approached normal, the grass greened up and many of the apple trees popped with color. This was a great time to take a break from the daily routine and grab the camera and get outside.
We are fortunate to have several crab apple trees as well as apple trees on our property so finding material to photograph was easy. The colors range from white to pink and various shades of burgundy and purple. We are taking this opportunity to show off a little of our capabilities with camera equipment.
Last month we bought a Richo Theta camera which is capable of 360 degree video as well as still pictures. As some of you may have seen in our posts we do panoramas. With an SLR digital camera this requires using a pano head on a tripod. The panoramas are stitched together with 38 pictures. This requires time and software to do. The Richo Theta camera allows us to do the same thing with one 360 picture. The resolution is not quite what we would like but not too bad.
Here is Chris of Dan330.com using the Theta to get a picture in the crab apple trees.
Here is an interactive 360 picture taken above.
Drones are hot and getting hotter.
Chris and I are both commercial pilots so we couldn’t wait to get a drone. This was the week we finally pulled the trigger and bought one. Here is a video Chris took and edited for this post. What a fun perspective of the trees.
Our bees are sure busy with all the flowering fruit trees in the yard. They have plenty of pollen to collect. It is such a shame that the blossoms don’t last very long. Our yard looks and smells awesome.
Here are a few more of our still pictures.
Thanks for visiting today. We hope we you enjoyed a little behind the scenes look at what we do. If you really liked it, how about sharing the video or pictures? Thanks!
