You Won’t Believe What Happened When We Tried This

OK, We have been blogging for about 2 1/2 years now. Some things we do pretty well, others, well not so much. We have won a national recipe contest sponsored by Boar’s Head brand. The Wall Street Journal mentioned us in an article earlier this. We even made the cover of an Investment News Magazine. With the attention we have gotten, we have grown confident in our ability to make DIY projects or recreate recipes. Then along comes a YouTube video.

Many of you may have seen this Youtube video of a squirrel “carving” a pumpkin by chewing out the eye holes and mouth. Well we saw this and thought what the heck, we can do that.

How hard can that be? We have pumpkins and lots of squirrels who hang around the deck at our house.

We knew that whoever made the video got the squirrel to eat out just certain parts of the pumpkin. Our plan was to inject the pumpkin with something that the squirrels couldn’t resist. We chose sugar water.

    Next time try peanut butter. That was what they used in the first “squirrel carves a pumpkin” video I saw.
